Dutch première
Sunday June 6th (last chance!)
Rotterdamse Schouwburg
Josse De Pauw and Corrie van Binsbergen create a moving performance based on the eternal emotions of longing and loss. The central character is not a human being, but rather a creature filled with longings. It hears faint sounds from far over the mountains and is drawn by their siren song, propelled forward by them, turned upside down and then blown away by them.
an opera about Tristan and Isolde
Sunday June 6th (last chance)
O.T. Theater
When people think of Tristan and Isolde they think first of all of Wagner’s famous opera, but the Swiss composer Frank Martin also composed an impressive version of the dramatic love story. Martin composed his oratorio Le vin herbé for strings, piano and vocal ensemble. Opera O.T. continues its collaboration with Domestica Rotterdam, a group of musicians from the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Wim Steinmann.
