Rotterdam is a city with an enormous musical wealth, a city that has produced not only world-class acts but also local heroes with new sounds and new music that continually refers back to the past. A city in which music of every type is made by people of all ages and cultures. The city project Het Geluid van Rotterdam enables all musical Rotterdammers to enjoy this musical wealth. In a year of excellent concerts, presentations and exhibitions as well as a lasting online archive that is freely accessible to all, we and the Rotterdammers now present the musical history of Rotterdam: the history of yesterday, today and tomorrow, and for today and always.
