Operadagen supports Umculo Cape Festival

Umculo Cape Festival 2012 will present Purcell's Fairy Queen.

The performers lead the audience into an autumnal world full of magic and madness...


Umculo/ Cape Festival is an international musical organisation that supports lasting social and musical change in South Africa. The organisation was founded in 2010 and provides educational and musical organisations in South Africa with a platform for performances, discussions and conferences; it also organises an international network of renowned musical institutes. Umculo Cape Festival 2012 will present Purcell's Fairy Queen. "If love's a sweet passion, why does it torment?" The performers lead the audience into an autumnal world full of magic and madness. The festival is supported financially by Operadagen Rotterdam and other organisations.

Performances: 23 through 25 March in the UJ Theatre in Johannesburg and 30 March through 1 April in the Joseph Stone Theatre in Capetown.
